System for Award Management - SAM.gov

GRATEFUL SYNERGIES WILL SET UP YOUR SAM.GOV REGISTRATION

A SAM registration is required for any entity to bid on and get paid for federal contracts or to receive federal funds. These include for-profit businesses, nonprofits, government contractors, government subcontractors, state governments, and local municipalities. The SAM registration is valid for one year from the date the registration is complete and must be renewed before 60 days of expiration to avoid potential penalties.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS TO HAVE A SAM.GOV REGISTRATION:

  • You are a business in the private sector wanting to do business with the federal government
  • You are a nonprofit and need an active SAM registration for grant applications
  • You need an UEI number, CAGE code, and/or MPIN for a SAM registration
  • You are a local or state government entity/agency or school/university and receive federal assistance
  • You want to become eligible for bidding on FEMA contracts
  • You are a subcontractor under a prime contractor and are mandated to be registered and certified by your Authorized Contracting Officer (ACO)

The 8(a) program offers unique and valuable business assistance. The 8(a) certification does not guarantee contract awards but it is a dynamic tool to pursue and capture new opportunity from the government.

Joining the WOSB/EDWOSB Federal Contract programs makes a business eligible to compete for federal contracts reserved for the program's certified participants. These contracts are known as “set-asides.” Provided they are eligible, WOSB-certified firms can still compete for contract awards under other socio-economic programs, including 8(a) and HUBZone.

Certification with SBA allows service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSBs) to compete for federal sole-source and set-aside contracts across the federal government. Certified veteran-owned small businesses (VOSBs) have additional opportunities to pursue sole-source and set-aside contracts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under the VA’s Vets First program.

Many state and local government bodies reserve a certain percentage of their contracts exclusively for Minority Owned Businesses. This ensures that minority businesses not only participate but also have a fair shot at securing these lucrative contracts. This direct access can be transformative, giving MBE businesses a clear advantage in tendering processes.
